For 2012 the E-Class line-up returns with changes to model availability, as well as a number of engine revisions. The E550 sedan is offered only with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, and the E63 AMG wagon is new to the line-up. E350 coupe and cabriolet feature a new 3.5L direct injection V6 engine and 17-inch wheels. E550 now features a 4.6L twin-turbo V8 that produces 402 horsepower. Also available are a new assistance system for active and passive Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist functionality. Sedan and wagon models also see engine updates; the E63 makes 518 horsepower via a new 5.5L twin-turbo engine. Available Technology advancements include Nightview Assist PLUS with pedestrian detection system, adaptive highbeam headlights, and PRE-SAFE system with Automatic Emergency Braking. E63 sedan features and optional Performance Package that boosts output to 550hp.
