The popular Lexus RX returns for the 2012 model year with no major changes, and continues in RX 350 and hybrid 450h models with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Updates this year include a revision in the fuel octane level recommendations to regular (87) instead of premium gas. One new color is offered: Nebula Gray Pearl. The 350 is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine mated to a six-speed Multi-Mode automatic while the 450h receives a 3.5-liter V6 Atkinson-cycle engine paired with electric motors to produce 295 total system horsepower. A driver-selectable EV mode on the 450h can allow the vehicle to be driven short distances using only the electric motors. Riding on 18-inch wheels, Lexus has designed the RX to provide a smooth and comfortable ride. Options on RX 350 include an entertainment system, remote start, as well as a number of options packages geared towards comfort, luxury or vehicle appearance.
