The new Rio features a direct injection gas engine, as well as stop/start technology to increase fuel efficiency (up to 40 miles per gallon). Trims offered include a sporty SX model, which features 17-inch allow wheels, LED headlamps, dual chrome exhaust tips, fog lights and a voice activated entertainment system (late availability). The infotainment system will feature a 4.3-inch color display as well as rearview camera. The Rio is aimed at eco-conscious consumers who want a fun to drive vehicle offering many technology advancements in a budget oriented package. As a result of an audit and investigation by the EPA, Hyundai and Kia have posted reduced mileage ratings for most of their 2012 and 2013 vehicles; if applicable, MPG ratings shown have been adjusted as of November 2012.
