2012 Kia Rio5 EX 4Dr Hatchback Engine & Transmission Specifications

Completely redesigned for the 2012 model year, the Kia Rio will continue in both four door sedan and five door hatchback bodystyles, though the sedan will arrive later in the model year. The new Rio features a direct injection gas engine, as well as stop/start technology to increase fuel efficiency (up to 40 miles per gallon). Trims offered include a sporty SX model, which features 17-inch allow wheels, LED headlamps, dual chrome exhaust tips, fog lights and a voice activated entertainment system (late availability). The infotainment system will feature a 4.3-inch color display as well as rearview camera. The Rio is aimed at eco-conscious consumers who want a fun to drive vehicle offering many technology advancements in a budget oriented package. As a result of an audit and investigation by the EPA, Hyundai and Kia have posted reduced mileage ratings for most of their 2012 and 2013 vehicles; if applicable, MPG ratings shown have been adjusted as of November 2012.
