The Ford Mustang returns for 2012 with few changes. The Mustang is available in coupe or convertible bodystyles and six trims: Base, Premium, GT, Premium GT, Boss 302 (coupe only), and Shelby GT500. The Base and Premium are powered by a 303 horsepower 3.7L V6 engine while the GT and Boss 302 receive a 5.0L V8 engine that produces 412 (440 on the Boss 302) horsepower and 390 (380 on the Boss 302) lb-ft of torque. The Shelby GT500 is equipped with a 540-horsepower supercharged 5.4L V8 engine. All engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission (N/A on the Boss 302 or GT500). The design of the latest mustang is a modern interpretation of the late 60's and early 70's muscle car.
