Having seen a freshening of the interior and exterior in 2009, the 2011 Mazda RX-8 returns for this year with no major changes, and continues in Sport, Grand Touring, and R3 trims. Models feature standard 18-inch wheels, chrome dual-tailpipes, LED taillights, air conditioning, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with shift knob. Options on RX-8 include a rear spoiler, R3 Sport Package (sport suspension, side sills, spoiler, unique front bumper, and 19-inch wheels), and heated leather seats with three-position memory. The RX-8 features a full-length center console that runs the entire length between the front and rear seats, with small hinged doors allowing better access to the rear of the cabin. On the engineering side, the tachometer redline automatically adjusts based on engine temperature.
