After a significant freshening in 2009, the 2011 Mazda Miata returns this year with no changes. It is available in four trims: Sport (soft top only), Touring, and Grand Touring in either soft top or power hard top configurations. A Special Edition Hardtop is available later in the model year. The Miata is powered by Mazda's MZR-series 2.0L four-cylinder engine generating 167 horsepower (158 when equipped with automatic transmission) and 140 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices include either a five-speed manual (Sport), six-speed manual (Touring and Grand Touring) or six-speed automatic transmission (Sport, Touring and Grand Touring). The Guinness Book of World Records designated Miata the "most popular two-seat convertible in the world," and more than 850,000 have been sold to date.
