The 2011 Porsche Boxster is available in three trims: base, S and Spyder. Updates for this model year include several new option packages and Bluetooth hands-free phone interface and a universal audio interface that provides connections for a MP3 player are now standard on all models. The base model is equipped with a 2.9L 255 horsepower V6 engine; while the S receives a 3.4L V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower. The Spyder receives an upgraded version of the 3.4L V6 engine and generates 320 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission. There are three new metallic exterior color options: Platinum Silver Metallic, Ruby Red and Amethyst Metallic.
