The 2011 GMC Terrain is available in two trims: SLE and SLT; in 2WD and AWD configurations. Updates include an enhanced OnStar 9.0, which delivers improved speech recognition, and a pair of new exterior colors: Steel Blue Metallic and Summit White. Engine choices on the Terrain include the standard 182 horsepower 2.4L four-cylinder engine or the optional 3.6L V6 engine that produces 264 horsepower and 222 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4L engine features an "eco" mode that is activated with a console-mounted button. When engaged, it lowers the torque converter lockup speed to 1,125 rpm to help save fuel. Standard features on all models include keyless remote entry, hands-free OnStar communication system, tinted glass, rear view camera, and StabiliTrak stability control system.
