The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche is available in three trims: LS, LT and LTZ trims in either 2WD or 4WD configuration. The model line is carried over from last year with only minor updates. Changes include body-color mirrors are now standard on LS trims, a two-speed transfer case replaces the single-speed case standard on LTZ 4WD, and new optional 20-inch chrome-clad wheels. The Avalanche is still powered by a Vortec 5.3L V-8 with cylinder-deactivating Active Fuel Management technology and a fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission. New exterior colors for this model year include Steel Green Metallic, Mocha Steel Metallic and Inferno Orange Metallic which replaces Laser Blue Metallic and Black Granite Metallic.
