The 2011 X5 is available in three trims: xDrive 35i, xDrive 50i, and M. New for this model year is an updated exterior design and new powertrains. The xDrive 35i is equipped with an updated 300 horsepower single turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine while the xDrive 50i receives a new twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The M is equipped with a 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine generating 555 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive speed control, remote controlled power windows, and Xenon adaptive high intensity discharge headlights. Available packages include the Sport Package, Active Ventilated Seat Package, Premium Package, and Technology Package.
