The redesigned 2011 Mercedes-Benz R-Class is available in two trims: R350 and R350 Blue TEC. The exterior as well as interior have been restyled. The R350 is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine while the R350 Blue TEC receives a clean diesel version of the 3.5L V6. The gas engine produces 268 horsepower and 258 ft-lbs of torque while the diesel engine generates 210 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a seven-speed Touch Shift automatic transmission. Models feature a genuine maple interior trim with aluminum accents, hill start assist, variable focus headlamps, SmartKey infrared remote control, heated rearview mirrors and night security illumination with Locator lighting. A 24-hour Roadside Assistance program is also standard.
