The 2011 BMW X6 is available in four trims: xDrive35i, xDrive50i, ActiveHybrid and M. Updates for this model year include the addition of an 8-speed automatic transmission, Brake Energy Regeneration and Lane Departure Warning and Active Cruise Control are now available as stand-alone options. Engine choices include a 3.0L I-6 twin-turbo engine, a 4.4L V8 twin-turbo engine, or a 555 hp 4.4L V8 twin-turbo M engine. The 35i and 50i engines are mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission while the M maintains a six-speed M Sport automatic transmission with Adaptive Transmission Control (ATC). The ActiveHybrid is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine and two electric synchronous motors mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes run-flat tires, leather seats, dual-zone air conditioning, and a stereo system with MP3 compatible CD player.
