The 2011 BMW 1-Series is available in two trims: 128i and 135i, in either coupe or convertible bodystyles. Updates for this model year include a new single-turbo 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine and the availability of a 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) on the 135i. The new engine is equipped with a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology that allows the engine to reach peak torque at 1,200 rpm, which is 200 rpm earlier than the previous model. The new engine combined with the 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) allows the 135i to accomplish a 0-60 mph time of 5 seconds. The 128i remains powered by a 230 horsepower 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine. Standard features on all models include remote controlled engine start, automatic climate controls, and dynamic stability control.
