All-new for 2010, the Ford Mustang returns for 2011 with few changes. The Mustang is available in coupe or convertible bodystyles and five trims: Base, Premium, GT, Premium GT, and Shelby GT500. The Base and Premium are powered by a new 303 horsepower 3.7L V6 engine while the GT receives a new 5.0L V8 engine that produces 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The Shelby GT500 is equipped with a 540-horsepower supercharged 5.4L V8 engine. All engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission (N/A on the GT500). The design of the latest mustang is a modern interpretation of the late 60's and early 70's muscle car. Performance and handling modifications include larger wheels, retuned suspension and increased horsepower.
