All-new for 2010, the Toyota 4Runner returns in SR5, Trail, and Limited trims. First introduced in 1984, the ever popular 4Runner is on its 5th generation design, and has seen more than 1.5 million vehicles sold. The vehicles are larger overall than the previous model and are powered by a new 4.0L V6 engine which now produces 270 horsepower and utilizes variable valve timing technology for improved fuel efficiency. A base 2.7L four-cylinder engine is also standard on the SR5 2WD trim only. Trail models feature distinctive dark smoke treatments on the headlights and tail lamps, and come equipped more appropriately for off-road performance. The Limited and SR5 trims add exterior chrome treatments, front bumper moldings and fender flares for an aggressive appearance. Toyota is dropping the 4-cylinder engine from the line-up in 2011.
