The 2010 Porsche Panamera is available in three models: S, 4S, and Turbo. The S and 4S are powered by a 4.8L V8 engine generating 400 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo receives a twin turbocharged version of the 4.8L V8 engine and produces 500 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch automatic transmission. It is the first premium car with an automatically shifting double-clutch transmission to feature an engine start/stop system that saves fuel and reduces emissions by turning the engine off when it is not needed, such as sitting at a stop light.
