Introduced in 2009, the 2010 Nissan GT-R is carried over from last year with some significant mechanical improvements. Horsepower on the 3.8L twin-turbo engine is up 5 to 485hp, and the performance-oriented "dual clutch" transmission now features a new Transmission Control Module which is designed to improve drivability and vehicle acceleration when the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) is activated. At about $83,000 for the Premium trim, the GT-R's price is up nearly $4,000 over last year's model. The GT-R received a number of accolades for 2009, including Motor Trend's Car of the Year. Exterior trim enhancements see a slightly darker smoke finish forged aluminum wheel on the Base, and a new "near -black" metallic wheel finish for the Premium.
