Last year Ford introduced an extended length model to the redesigned Expedition Lineup. The Expedition EL is now available in four trim levels: Base, Limited, Eddie Bauer, and King Ranch with either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The EL is 14.8 inches longer and has 20 cubic feet more cargo capacity behind the third row seat then the standard model. Last years redesign included exterior styling based on the F-Series trucks, new interior features, and added standard safety features. Ford also added AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control) and three-row Safety Canopy side curtain air bags as standard equipment on all models. All Expedition models are powered by a 5.4L Triton V-8 engine that generates 300 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift capability.
