The 2006 Malibu returns this year with the elimination of the Base Malibu and the introduction of the LTZ Models. Malibu and Malibu Maxx models both come in LS, LT, LTZ, and SS trims, in either sedan or Maxx hatchback bodystyles. Standard features include body-colored side molding with chrome accents, power-assisted driver seat height adjusters, rear door child locks and a CD audio system. The LS, LT, LTZ, and SS sedans get a new front-end appearance. Also new for 2006 includes Titanium, Cashmere, and Ebony trim colors and new patterns for fabric seats. Sandstone and Silverstone exterior colors replace Galaxy Silver and Light Driftwood. Laser Blue is now available on uplevel models.
