For 2006, the Colorado returns with a few minor changes. Some of the changes include the addition of an optional Sun and Sound Package on the LT models, upgraded cloth materials on the LT upholstery and Crew Cab seatback, and one new exterior color: Blue Granite Metallic. Crew Cab versions are available in two models: LT trim, in either 2WD or 4WD configuration. A 2.8L 175 hp in-line four-cylinder engine remains standard on all models, while a 220 hp 3.5L in-line five-cylinder engine is also available. All engines are mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. All LT 2WD Colorado's can be ordered with the Xtreme Appearance Package, which features chrome grill accents, body side ground effects, rear spoiler and 18-inch wheels.
