Redesigned for the 2005 model year, the sixth generation C6 Corvette continues in both coupe and convertible bodystyles. Though based on the C5 platform, about 85% of the vehicle is new. Substantial changes include an upgraded, better performing suspension and a stronger engine that produces 400-hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Other significant refinements include a more upscale interior and exterior styling changes, such as fixed headlights. The convertible offers a power-operated top for the first time in over thirty years. Other options on these models include a Z51 Performance Package, dual removable roof panels (coupe only), and Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The higher performance Z06 model enters the model line-up this past fall.
