The TrailBlazer returns for 2006 with little change. It continues to be available in eight models – 2WD and 4WD versions in either regular or EXT (extended) bodies in both LS and LT trim levels. The TrailBlazer EXT features a wheelbase about 16 inches longer than the standard model, allowing more room and the capacity for a third row seat. Both LS and LT models feature a 4.2L engine that produces 275 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. GM will add a four-door truck version of the Trailblazer later this year to compete with Ford's Explorer Sport-Trac. Chevrolet plans to produce a SS version of the Trailblazer that is equipped with a LS2 6.0-liter V-8 that produces 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.
