The 2006 H1 returns after a one year hiatus, renamed the H1 Alpha, and is available in two models. The Open Top and Hard Top trim lines are powered by a new 6.6L V8 turbo diesel engine with 300 horsepower, 95 more horsepower than it's predecessor. The 6.6L is paired to five-speed automatic transmission with a Tow/Haul mode. Both models offer a full-time 4WD system. Standard equipment includes hydro-boost four-wheel ABS disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, and a premium Monsoon stereo with a six-disc, in-dash compact disc changer. The Off-Road Adventure package has been added and it includes electronic locking front and rear differentials, 17-inch two-piece forged aluminum wheels and a 12,000-lb. capacity Warn winch.
