The Beetle returns for 2005 with little change. The Beetle remains available in Hatchback or Convertible with several different engine choices: 2.0L, 1.9L Turbo Diesel, and 1.8L Turbo. A new six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission is now available with the 2.0L or 1.8 L Turbo engines. An OnStar Telematics Communication System is offered as an option on all Beetle models. Other options that can be ordered with the GL models include an electronic stabilization program, satellite radio, and a 6-disc CD changer located in the trunk. The GLS models can be upgraded with high-intensity discharge headlights, leather sport seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and a Cold Weather Package. New exterior colors include Shadow Blue and Tornado Red.
