The 2004 Tacoma continues from the previous year with few changes. There are five models available: Regular Cab and Xtra Cab in 2WD and 4WD, and the 4WD Double Cab. Regular Cab models are equipped with in-line four cylinder engines, while Xtra Cab models may be upgraded with an optional V-6. All Double Cab Tacomas are standard equipped with the V-6 engine. Toyota offers several option packages on the Tacoma, such as the SR5 and Limited packages, that include a variety of exterior trim upgrades and functional feature improvements. In addition, there is an extensive list of post-production options available including side-steps, a tonneau cover, truck bed shells, 5-spoke alloy wheels, and stereo components.
