The Forester is back with a new edition to the 2004 Forester line up, the 2.5XT trim model. The 2.5 XT is similarly equipped as the 2.5 XS model except it receives a turbo charged 2.5L engine that produces 210 hp and 235 lbs/ft of torque. The 2.5XT front hood scoop, side cladding and aluminum finish easily identifies this trim from other Forester+s. New for this year is an optional four speed Direct Controlled Electronic Automatic transmission with enhanced shift operations. The X models are equipped with ABS brakes, keyless entry system, and front seat head/chest side impact air bags. The 2.5 XS gets upgraded with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, a six-disc CD changer, and automatic climate control.
