The XLT and XLT Premium Equipment Groups are equipped with an automatic transmission coupled to a 208 horsepower 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. The Premium Sport Group, Convenience Group, and Comfort Group upgrade packages are included with the Premium Equipment Group option. All Explorer Sport 4WD models are equipped with a 2-speed electric shift-on-fly transfer case and automatic locking front hubs. A limited slip rear axle is available on all models.
