The Frontier 2WD King Cab models return with minimal changes to the interior and exterior. There are five trim levels available: base, XE, XE-V6, SE-V6, and S/C-V6. The XE-V6 and SE-V6 feature a 180-HP V6 engine, while the super charged version included with the S/C-V6 model boasts 210-HP and 246 lb.-ft. of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all models except the SE-V6, which is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and a LATCH System are standard on all models. Optional equipment includes a tire pressure monitoring system and traction control system. Vehicle specifications reflect the 2002 model year.
