The 2003 Altima is mostly a carryover from 2002. The Altima is available in four models: 2.5, 2.5S, 2.5SL, and 3.5SE. The first three models are powered by a 2.5L 175-hp engine, whereas the SE model is powered by a 3.5L 245-hp V-6 engine. All models are coupled with a standard five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The 2.5, 2.5S, and 3.5SE also have the option of installing a four-speed automatic transmission. Optional packages include the Convenience Package for the 2.5S, the Sport and Leather Package for the 3.5SE, and the ABS & Side Airbag Package for 2.5S, 2.5SL, and 3.5SE. Standard safety features for all models include child safety locks, the LATCH child restraint seat system, dual airbags, and side impact door beams.
