The 2003 Astro Passenger Van returns with a new lower-priced Base model for the two-wheel drive, in addition to the LS and LT trims. An all-wheel drive model is also available. Larger 16-inch wheels are now standard. Four-wheel disc brakes are also a new standard feature. Many features were made into options in order to offer the Base model. Rear Dutch doors continue to be optional, as well as rear air conditioning. Other standard features include deep tinted rear windows, eight passenger seating with center and rear removable benches, foldaway dual power mirrors, power windows, and power door locks. Optional features include a seven passenger seating group, rear heater, towing package, and air conditioning.
