The Tacoma PreRunner pickups return with minor changes for 2002. These 2WD trucks are available as a regular cab, extended cab, or four-door double cab. All are equipped with a standard 2.7L four-cylinder engine coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission. A 3.4L 190-hp V6 engine is available on the extended cab and double cab models at extra cost. The PreRunner's safety features include dual front airbags, side-impact door beams, and available anti-lock brakes. Several upgrade packages are available on the PreRunner, providing features such as off-road suspension, alloy wheels, privacy glass, and color-keyed exterior trim. To customize the appearance of the truck, a variety of post production accessories are also available.
