The Jetta Wagon arrives this year with four new models and other detail changes. Two GL models join the line-up, and are available with either the standard 2.0L 115-hp engine, or the 1.9L TDi diesel (also available in GLS trim). All Jetta TDi models (sedan and wagon) may be found separately in the Jetta TDi report. The GL models provide a lower-cost solution to budget-minded consumers by eliminating some power accessories and by limiting option availability. Also new this year is the GLS 1.8T model, which boasts a 180-hp turbo engine. This engine may be complimented with a new optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. A new Premium CD stereo system, with cassette and CD players, will become standard equipment later in the model year.
