The 2001 Suburban returns this model year with minor changes. The Suburban is available in four models: 1500 and 2500 in 2WD and 4WD models. The 6.0 liter engine gains 15 horsepower this year, and an optional 8.1 liter 340 horsepower engine is available on 2500 series models. Two tone exterior colors have been discontinued, and new metallic colors include Forest Green and Redfire. Standard safety features include front and side-impact air bags, daytime running lights, and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. A tow/haul mode transmission is available for better trailer towing and heavy load hauling. Autoride Damping Suspension, Electronic Traction control (2WD models), and self-leveling suspension are also available as options.
