The Impala continues into the 2001 model year with only minor changes. Most noticeable are additions to color availability. New exterior colors include White, Light Sandrift, and Dark Bronzemist. Interior color Neutral has also been added. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with tire pressure sensors continue as an optional feature on the base model. The LS model offers a 200-hp 3.8L V-6 engine, and includes anti-lock brakes, traction control, aluminum wheels, and a ride and handling suspension system. Several sound system upgrades are available, including CD and cassette capability, along with an eight-speaker premium sound system. Additional options include a power sunroof, leather seating, and steering wheel-mounted radio controls.
