The Grand Cherokee is available in four models: the 2WD Laredo and Limited, and the 4WD Laredo and Limited. All models feature a 4.0L in-line six-cylinder engine as standard equipment. A 4.7L V8 teamed with a new five-speed automatic transmission is available at extra cost. Standard safety features on all Grand Cherokees include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, child seat tethers, and next generation air bags for both driver and passenger. A new Special Appearance Group is available on the Laredo models that includes front fog lamps, leather seating surfaces, body-side stripes, and 17-inch wheels and tires. Two new exterior color choices have also been added this year, Woodland Brown and Steel Blue.
