The 1999 Jetta is available in four models: GL, TDI, Wolfsburg and GLX. The Jetta is equipped with a remote keyless entry system, power windows (except on TDI) and cruise control (optional on the GL). Standard safety features include open door warning reflectors, anti-intrusion side impact door beams, child safety locks and a theft deterrent system. Also included is daytime running lights, emergency tensioning retractors for front safety belts and a child seat tether anchorage system (rear seat). ABS (anti-lock braking system) is standard on the GLX and optional on all other models and side impact airbags are available as well. Other options include a 4-speed automatic transmission and metallic paint.
