The 1999 Avalon sedan is available in two trim-levels: XL and XLS. The +99 Avalon adopts standard Daytime Running Lights (DLR) and heated outside mirrors on the XL. The auto-on headlamps are also now available on the XL. The optional Premium 3-in-1 combo audio system comes equipped with seven-speakers, a multi-function remote keyless entry system, with lock/unlock, including trunk release and panic features. Fog lamps and a anti-theft system with engine immobilizer are standard for the XLS. Power door locks, cruise control and a heavy-duty rear window defogger with timer are standard for both models. More standard features on both models are a Deluxe AM/FM ETR with cassette, power windows and high solar-energy-absorbing glass.
