For 1999, the Pontiac Grand Am sports a completely redesigned interior and exterior and the new models include the SE, SE1 and SE2 coupe and sedan. The Grand Am now features a wheelbase that is 3.6 inches longer than the previous model while the exterior length has been slightly reduced. Also new, the Grand Am in now powered by a 3.4 liter V6 with 170 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque and gets nearly the same fuel economy as the previous 3.1 liter V6. Optional equipment on the SE1 and SE2 includes a keyless remote entry system, and AM/FM stereo with Cassette and CD and a power glass moon roof. All models feature safety features such as traction control, a rear window defroster and an anti-lock braking system.
