For 1999, the Windstar has an all new interior and exterior. The big news for 1999 is the addition of a sliding side door on the driver+s side that is available on all models. The fourth door is standard on the SE and SEL models and optionally available on the 3.0L and LX. Dual power sliding doors are standard on the SEL and an option on the SE model. The interior features new trim, new radios with large buttons, new steering wheel with fully integrated air bag and a redesigned instrument panel. A new option available on all models is front seat mounted side impact air bags. The exterior features shorter front end styling thanks to a new hood, fenders, lamps and fascia. The Windstar meets Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) standards.
