For 1999, the Cavalier is available in six models- the Base sedan, Base coupe, Rally Sport coupe, LS sedan, Z24 coupe and Z24 convertible. New for 1999, the Cavalier refines the 2.4 liter engine and introduces a bi-fuel engine optional on the Base sedan that runs on either gasoline or compressed natural gas. Also new are two new exterior colors - Medium Green Metallic and Sandrift Metallic, new badging for the Rally Sport model and body colored grille on Rally Sport and LS models. The list of standard features include 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, the Passlock Theft-Deterrent System, Daytime Running Lamps and Battery-Rundown Protection. All vehicles with the optional 4-speed automatic transmission include traction control.
