The 1998 2WD Nissan Frontier is all new for 1998. It is available in two regular cab models, Base and XE and two King Cab models, XE and SE. The Frontier is the first Nissan Pick-up Truck with an official name. New exterior colors include Cheyenne Red, Deep Crystal Blue, Sierra Pine, Goldstone and Timber Frost. The engine produces 143 hp, 9 hp more than last year. Standard safety equipment includes dual air bags with passenger side air bag cut-off switch. The XE and SE trim models includes chrome grille and bumpers, air conditioning and cassette player. The SE furthermore includes CD player and power windows, locks and mirrors. Appearance package and Comfort package are optional on the XE models while being standard on the SE model.
