For 1998, the F150 Super Cab extended cab pick up is available in six models: (Base) Styleside, XL Styleside and Flareside models in 2WD or 4WD. New equipment for 1998 includes the new Twin Forged Short Long Arm suspension and the exhaust pipe as been relocated from the front of the wheel well to the rear for improved cold-weather performance. New optional packages include the Pick Up Box Security Group and the Electrical/Cooling Package. The standard (4x2 only) Triton 4.2L engine has been improved with more horspower and torque and all engines have a 100,000 mile tune up interval. New safety features include depowered air bags and a passenger side deactivation switch which allows for use with a child seat.
