For 1997, the Grand Cherokee is available in six models - Laredo, TSi and Limited; 2WD or 4WD. The Grand Cherokee considered to be the flagship of Jeep, received changes which incorporate a refined anti-lock brake system, a refined entry-level radio and a modified tilt steering wheel. Modifications include the fit and appearance of the floor covering and improved rear seat heating by extending the rear ducts. Also, new for 1997 is the availability of 2WD with the optional 5.2L engine. Exterior features include optional Good Year Wrangler tires and the addition of several new paint colors which have been layered on top of a full-body anti-chip primer. The TSi package includes leather seats and the Orvis package is available on Limited models.
