The 1997 Probe hatchback is available in two models - (Base) Probe, which replaces the SE, and the Probe GT. The Probe is manufactured in Flat Rock, Michigan with new exterior clearcoat metallic paints Sahara Gold and Silver Frost. Ford continues to offer their 24 hour roadside assistant program. New available options on the Base include leather seats, power sunroof, power driver+s seat and AM/FM Stereo/Clock/Cassette or CD. A new rear washer/wiper is included with the optional convenience group. New for this year on the GT is an optional GTS Sport Appearance Group that includes rear spoiler, body side stripes and 16 chromed wheels.
