For 1997, the F250 Heavy-Duty Crew Cab is available in two models, XL 2WD and 4WD. For the first time power windows and locks will be standard on the XLT. The 4.9L I-6 available last year has been replaced by a 5.8L V8 and the optional line of engines, the 7.3L Turbo diesel (which includes a super engine cooler) and 7.5L V8, are still available for anyone in need of more power. In 1997 a Heavy-Duty Front Suspension Package, Trailer Towing Package, Camper Package and a Off-Road Package (exclusively available on the 4Wd models) will be offered. Both the Camper and Trailer Packages contain a Handling Package which consist of front and rear stabilizers bars. Modern technology has been addressed with a Keyless Entry System.
