For 1997, the Escort has been redesigned and is available in three models -- sedan, LX sedan and LX wagon. The coupe, 5-door hatchback and GT are no longer available. All Escorts are now standard equipped with a 2.0 liter Split Port Induction engine, power steering, AM/FM stereo, and revised exterior and interior colors. Also new is solar tinted glass, integrated interior control panel and standard dual rearview exterior mirrors. New changes include revised center console with cupholders, improved rear seat heat ducts and rear Quadra-Link suspension. New LX options include 6-disc CD Changer, 4-door perimeter anti-theft system and an available sport package. Also available on the LX are integrated rear child seats.
