The 1996 Avalon is available in two models-(base) XL and XLS. The Avalon comes equipped with safety features such as dual air bags, side-impact door beams and child safety locks. The XLS upgrades the XL with intermittent windshield wipers, outside temperature display and leather wrapped steering. Offered at extra cost on both models are: moonroof, mudguards, premium radio with cassette/CD and a leather trim package. Destination charges for Gulf and Southeast states vary.
