The 1996 Impreza AWD wagon is available in three models - L, LX and Outback. Safety features include dual air bags, Impact absorbing steering column and all-wheel drive. The Impreza also meets 1997 side impact safety standards. All models come standard with a 2.2L engine. A five-speed manual transmission is standard for the L model. Outback models feature an optional four-speed automatic transmission(standard on LX) and two-tone paint. Other standard equipment includes air conditioning and AM/FM stereo with cassette. L models also include power locks and mirrors, while LX models add power windows. Options include cruise control, fog lights and carpeted floor mats.
