The 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT is available in five models - (Base) 3000GT, SL, VR-4 and Spyder SL and VR-4. According to Mitsubishi, the 3000GT has outsold the Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra and Nissan 300ZX combined. Standard features on the base model include side-impact door beams, power door locks and 16-inch alloy wheels. The SL upgrades the base model with electronic control three-stage shock absorbers, leather seats, steering wheel audio controls and remote keyless entry. In addition to the features offered on the SL coupe, the VR-4 offers a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 320hp V6 engine, full-time all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering. An Active Aero system with retractable front air dam and motorized rear spoiler is also standard on the VR-4.
